Farewell 2020

Here we are.

The day most of us have been waiting for - the end of 2020.

The year that challenged, broke and defined us.

A year that seemed to diminish us but brought us together just as much as it divided us. Connecting digitally, Zoom holidays, increased and well-deserved appreciation for front line workers, standing in solidarity with Black people across the world as we faced more injustice and violence at the hands of police.

Through the pain and hardships, we stood strong together. Held each other together as we broke down over job loss and the loss of a loved one. We will never forget 2020 and what it took from us.

As we walk into 2021, I pray we hold onto the victories 2020 brought us, the lessons we learned, the loved ones we can still call or text, and the simple pleasure of being alive to see another year, another day to breathe and try again.

Happy New Year.
